Reality TV SHILPASHETTYPHOTOS_04.jpgThe "Celebrity" Edition of Big Brother UK is stirring up some big controversy (and even bigger ratings) over an incident between "the most successful UK reality star ever", Jade Goody, and Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. The scandal (in which Goody is being accused of racism towards Shetty) has reached even the highest levels of UK government, with both current PM Tony Blair and his successor Gordon Brown commenting on the incident. With the initial outcry over last year's Survivor (in which contestants were divided into tribes according to race) - which quickly blew over - could this be just another instance of Reality TV's struggle to command ratings? Or are incidents like these opening the door to more discussions about race and racism in America and the UK? I guess only time will tell...
