Celebrity Street Style: The Long and the Short of It

Jessica may be from warmer climates, but somehow she didn't seem to mind going out in NYC in the near-freezing temperatures in this little half-coat!Although the trend does seem to be moving towards the shorter silhouette (at least on top), do you think Jess has taken it too far, or does it work well with the longer proportion of her sweater and jeans?
I think Jess looks pretty cute, but that coat looks so odd - and not practical!
