We're gonna give you the live, up-to-the-minute run-down of what's going on, so if you're Tivo'ing the show and don't want to know, or you're waiting for the delayed airing on the West Coast, look away!
8:17pm PT: The show's over, so what did you think? Russell Brand was a very energetic host, but did he take talk of politics and promise rings too far? And although Brit looked gorge and composed, but did Piece of Me deserve three Moonmen? Who was your fave and who should have stayed home?
8:13pm PT: Kanye closes the show singing slightly out of tune? We're underwhelmed.
8:12pm PT: Video of the Year goes to...Britney for Piece of Me, again! Three out of three! The comeback is complete!
8:00pm PT: Ya gotta love Kid Rock for coming out on the stage with a drink in hand. But he looks a little out of place among all the young Disney, Nick and Superbad stars, doesn't he? And the Lil Wayne collabo? Awkward!
7:52pm PT: Best Pop Video goes to...Britney again for Piece of Me! It's only the second Moonman of her career (she won her first earlier in the evening) and she looks so happy! Congrats, Brit!
7:51pm PT: Paris looks at the wrong camera, but she recovers well. Hey, at least she puts a little energy behind her delivery!
7:50pm PT: LL Cool J performs Going Back to Cali with Travis Barker and DJ AM -- that song's still hot, and so is LL!
7:44pm PT: Best New Artist goes to...Tokio Hotel! Really? Is it just the hair?
7:38pm PT: Xtina's got new bangs, a new look (which is kinda like the old Dirrrty look) and a new sound. We love the rendition of Genie in a Bottle, but is she lip-syncing? So unlike her, right?

7:29pm PT: Another back lot performance from TI, but wait, he's walking inside and there's Rihanna in a short jacket and nothing underneath! Move over, Pink, I feel another wardrobe malfunction coming on!
7:27pm PT: Jordin Sparks takes a swing at Russell Brand for making fun of the Jonas Brothers' promise rings...did she connect, though?
7:26pm PT: The Best Hip Hop Video goes to...Lil Wayne for Lollipop! Shortest. Speech. Ever.
7:25pm PT: The Best Hip Hop Video being presented by Slipknot and McLovin (?) who's "f*cking trashed"!
7:21pm PT: Ashlee's adorable, but annoying! And so much taller than Pete, huh?
7:13pm PT: Pink rips off her blue shiny trench while performing So What? and we think we see a nip slip...
7:12pm PT: Miley, we love you, and we sincerely someone else came up with that Rock Band bit, cuz...not so funny.
7:11pm PT: Best Rock Video goes to...Linkin Park for Shadow of the Day! OMG, is Slash drunk? Never, right?
7:08pm PT: Russell Brand bragging about having taken away one of the Jonas Brother's virginity pledge rings? Eww!

6:43pm PT: Leona Lewis and T Pain performing with Lil' Wayne backed by strings. Looks like the old men in the orchestra were shocked by whatever MTV bleeped out -- or is it the fact that you can almost see all of his Ralph Lauren black briefs hanging out of his pants?
6:34pm PT: Katy Perry singing Like a Virgin with Travis Barker and DJ AM, I thought she was gonna don a wedding dress and roll around on the stage!
6:32pm PT: The Jonas Brothers performing on the steps New York set at Paramount. Love the tear away to the big out door stage, but not loving their outfits. Kinda cheesy with the bow-tie and suspenders!
6:29pm PT: Best Male Video goes to...Chris Brown for With You! But he didn't thank Rihanna?
6:27pm PT: Demi Moore has a hard time getting down those steps, forgets her mic, and stumbles over her lines, but despite the hideous outfit, she still looks pretty damn good for 45!
6:19pm PT: It's Britney, bitch! Not only does she look great, but she's so composed as she thanks God and her beautiful boys for inspiring her!
