Hilary Duff hilarfayebeef.jpg

Last week, when legendary actress Faye Dunaway learned that Hilary Duff was set to star in the remake of "Bonnie and Clyde," the Oscar-winner remarked to a reporter, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?'' In case you didn't know, Faye played Bonnie in the original flick, which was nominated for ten Academy Awards in 1968.

Anyway, little miss Lizzie McGuire was none too pleased about Faye's comment, and according to E!'s Daily 10 (via Defamer), Hilary fired back, saying:

“I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is, so you know…I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Should Hilary even be going there?! She hasn't exactly earned any major award nominations (Teen Choice awards don't count - we're talking Golden Globes, Emmys, SAG awards, etc.), and her last major movie was "War, Inc," which made a whopping $45.7 thousand on it's opening weekend (thanks IMDb Pro!).

What will Faye say about this? We have a feeling this isn't over yet!
