President Obama has stepped up and recorded his own "It Gets Better" message to let the gay teen victims of bullying that "you are not alone."
“We’ve got to dispel this myth that bullying is just a normal right of passage, that it’s some inevitable part of growing up. It’s not,†he says in the very presidential looking video. He continues, “What I want to say is this: You are not alone. You didn’t do anything wrong. You didn’t do anything to deserve being bullied.â€
Obama has drawn a lot of criticism from his gay supporters as of late, specifically with his approach to repealing the Don't Ask, Don't Tell law. Even though Obama opposes the law, his administration has successfully reinstated the law after it was briefly struck down earlier this month.
But whatever your opinion of his policies, it's wonderful to see the president lending his hopeful message to this important topic.
