lohanjailcourt.jpgLindsay Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, isn't pleased with the Palm Desert Police Department's loose lips in regards to her client's December 12 argument with Betty Ford Center employee Dawn Holland.

Holley released the following statement:

"The important, yet limited, investigatory role of the police to gather facts and collect evidence is well-established.

The fact that the Palm Desert Police Department went outside this limited role to issue a press statement expressing its opinion about what should happen in Ms. Lohan's case is highly unusual and deeply troubling."

The Palm Desert PD recently said they believe Lindsay did commit battery against Holland during the reported Betty Ford scuffle. Officers say the case will now be handed over to local prosecutors.

Lindsay is due back in court on February 25 for a routine progress review hearing.
