liztaylorobit230.jpg Dame Elizabeth Taylor passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles this morning, her rep has confirmed. Taylor had been at Cedars-Sinai since last month after suffering congestive heart failure symptoms, and her rep added, "She was surrounded by her children - Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton."

The iconic actress is survived by four children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Taylor was married to eight times to seven different men throughout her life: Conrad Hilton, Micheal Wilding, Mike Todd, Eddie Fisher, John Warner, Larry Fortensky and Richard Burton, the latter of whom she tied the knot with twice. Taylor was most recently linked to talent manager Jason Winters.

During her career, Taylor won two Best Actress Oscars: the first in 1961 for Butterfield 8 and later in 1967 for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Taylor was well-known for her fundraising efforts for AIDS and HIV causes after she lost her close friend Rock Hudson to the disease in the 1980s.
