American Idol's Pia Toscano Signs Record Deal

She didn't win the competition, but she's coming out on top anyway!
Pia Toscano, 22, a fav female on the last season of American Idol, has signed a deal with Interscope Records. Her first single, "This Time," drops July 12 with her album debuting later this year.
"This is a dream come true," Toscano said in a statement. She'll work with famed producer Rodney Jerkins, who says fans can expect a a "diva" sound from Toscano. "This Time" was written by Esther Dean, the scribe behind Rihanna's "S&M," "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name."
Pia joins a list of singers who lost in Idol but ended up successful anyway, including Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and more. Congrats!
