PittGayMarriage230.jpgBrad Pitt once said that he and partner Angelina Jolie would only get married when all Americans had the right to marry, and he seems to be standing strong by that declaration.

In a statement to People, Pitt comments on New York's decision to legalize same-sex marriage:

"It is encouraging that New York has joined the movement to grant equal marriage rights to its citizens. But it is each American's Constitutional right to marry the person they love, no matter what state they inhabit. No state should decide who can marry and who cannot. Thanks to the tireless work of so many, someday soon this discrimination will end and every American will be able to enjoy their equal right to marriage."

However, rumors are that Pitt, 47, and Jolie, 36, have been remodeling their French chateau home with plans to marry there in the fall. At the Cannes Film Festival in May, Pitt said, "The kids ask about marriage ... It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at." He and Jolie have six children.

What do you think -- is marriage on the horizon for Brad and Angie?
