sgomezbh110111_01_X17230flip.jpgSelena Gomez's legal team was denied a permanent restraining order against alleged stalker Thomas Brodnicki. The judge, instead, extended the temporary restraining order already in place which forces Brodnicki to stay 100 yards away from Gomez for three years.

The 46-year-old man is currently being held in a mental ward due to growing concern that he may try to hurt the starlet.

Brodnicki was first arrested last month after being accused of stalking the actress from July through October. After his arrest, Selena had given a sworn declaration stating that she was in "extreme fear" of the suspect.

Despite Gomez's lawyers trying to get the permanent order, the judge said he would not consider the request until Brodnicki's next court date on January 6.
