He's about to jet out of town for an Alps Ski vacation with the fam, but David couldn't resist busting out his holiday sweater early at son Cruz's karate class, Wednesday night.

The proud papa arrived to the game solo, but happily helped the 6-year-old (a yellow belt!) get into uniform, before snapping a few pix from the bleachers.

And while Beckham has been busy mulling over an $18 million soccer contract with Paris Saint-Germain in France, Tom Cruise recently revealed he would love for his pal to take a break from sports to work with him on a future film project.

The Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol star confessed to the Daily Mirror: "I'd love to do action movies with Beckham. He would be great, he could kick a**."
