KHolmesTCruise062210_04_230.jpg News of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's divorce spread around the world the minute it was announced, and it seems everyone has an opinion on the circumstances surrounding the split! Rupert Murdoch, News Corp.'s chief executive, took to Twitter yesterday morning to slam Cruise and his controversial religion Scientology.

"Scientology back in the news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy," he tweeted.

Rumor has it that Cruise has worked his way up the ranks of the church, and is now second in command to David Miscavige, leader and close confidant of the actor.

Murdoch didn't hold back in his comments, claiming there is even more to the religion than the public truly knows about. "Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people," he writes.

Attacks on Scientology are always controversial and incite a response from the masses, and the media mogul is aware his views will make him a target for backlash. "Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks," he responded. "Expect they will increase and gets worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story."

We bet Tom Cruise is fuming!
