Russell Brand Gets Community Service For Cell Phone Smashing Incident

After smashing a paparazzo's iPhone back in March, Russell Brand has been sentenced to 20 hours of community service for his destructive outburst.
On behalf of the British comedian, his attorney appeared in a New Orleans court to plead not guilty to the misdemeanor criminal damage charge. Although he avoided jail time, Brand was slapped with $500 in court fees in addition to the community service.
He must complete all requirements by August 31.
