Yesterday Jessica Simpson appeared on the premiere episode of Katie Couric's new talk show, Katie, and the 31-year-old singer/actress opens up about getting her body back, motherhood and her upcoming wedding!

"I've just had a lot of pressure on me to lose the baby weight, and today was actually one of my goals: getting here, and feeling comfortable in a beautiful dress," Jess told Katie. The ladies chit chatted for a bit, and then Katie asked when Jess and fiance Eric Johnson might be walking down the aisle. "We have not [set a date] … it wont be this year, I can say that," she said. "We haven't had time … we thought we would have time to plan a wedding but Maxwell has definitely taken up all our time. I wanna do a really big fun wedding with all of my friends and family."

Finally the topic shifted to Jessica's dramatic weight loss (she's reportedly dropped 40 pounds since giving birth in May), and Katie asked what it was like trying to get her body back. "It is definitely a challenge. During pregnancy I didn't really think about it; I thought my doctors were telling me it was just a lot of water, and whenever my water broke, my whole entire would go down," she said. "But that didn't happen! All the weight did not come out with the baby…"

Jess also gives the audience a sneak peek at her Weight Watchers commercial (check it out in the video below) and she explains why she didn't go with a full body shot in the ad. "I really didn't want it to be about my weight," she says. "I know that everybody has their weight and their own issues, I really wanted it to be about the spirit of Weight Watchers and how I was feeling and i wanted to talk directly to people … it's not really who I am and Weight Watchers was on board with that."

On how she's portrayed in the media, Jess says, "I definitely don't pick up the magazines. I definitely don't Google my name. I try to avoid it completely, but I still subconsciously know that the talk is going on. So that's definitely a struggle for me ... I understand that it sells magazines. I wish I could get a cut."
