Talk about raining on the parade!

Heidi Klum was forced to cancel her annual extravagant Halloween bash in New York City due to the horrible conditions created by Hurricane Sandy.

Set to go as Cleopatra, the Victoria's Secret supermodel tweeted the disappointing news yesterday. "Hope you and your loved ones are safe after the storm. Cancelling my Halloween party... postponing to a haunted Christmas," she wrote on the microblogging site with a picture of her all bundled up in The Big Apple.

The party was all set to take place at Finale nightclub tonight, with the German stunner hosting as the Queen of the Nile, but it seems her guests will now have to wait until December to bust out their costumes.

Earlier in the month, Miss Klum posted a video to her blog giving fans a sneek peek into the making of her elaborate ensemble. "As you can see in the video, the making of my costume is quite an elaborate process. It takes months of planning and a team of expert designers to put it all together. Costume designer Martin Izquierdo has been creating my costumes for me for years. He's amazing! I can't wait for Halloween!" she told viewers.

Now that the party with have a Christmas theme, we wonder what the Project Runway host will cook up for a costume? A sexy Santa perhaps? Guess we'll have to wait and see!
