SLaBeoufMoney092010_00_X17pic.jpgShia LaBeouf has backed out of the Broadway play Orphans due to "creative differences."

The 26-year-old Transformers actor was set to star in the production which is scheduled to debut on April 7. Previews begin on March 19.

This would have been LaBeouf's first attempt at Broadway. Specific reasons for Shia's sudden departure have not been revealed, however he has a history of being difficult on various movie sets.

The play's director, Daniel Sullivan, has yet to name Shia's replacement.

Alec Baldwin is still attached to the play ... portraying the role of a powerful man kidnapped by two brothers.

Shia's next onscreen role will be in Nymphomaniac.
