Dorothy Hamill Quits Dancing With The Stars Due to Spinal Injury

Last night Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill was the first celeb to be sent home on Dancing With The Stars, but it's not because of her lack of tango skills -- turns out, she's nursing an old injury!

"I've taken the advice of my spine surgeon and I need to withdraw from the competition," Hamill explained during the first elimination episode of the season. "I have an injury that could be irreparable. I wish that I could give it my all but I can't. It's been wonderful ride."

The bottom two teams these week were Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko and Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold ... we're guessing they're grateful that Hamill gave them a free pass last night!
