Smooth operator Justin Timberlake is leading the pack at the MTV Music Video Awards this year with six nominations. But the "Suit & Tie singer should feel newbies Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, 2013's breakout collaborators, champing at the bit with their six VMA noms.

JT's nominations included Best Male Video and Best Pop Video for "Mirrors," as well as Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Collaboration for "Suit & Tie," his collaboration with Jay-Z.

"Blurred Lines"' sexy singer Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars (for "Locked Out of Heaven") and Taylor Swift (for "I Knew You Were Trouble") will all be duking it out with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" for Video of the Year. The artists who beat the heat with most VMA nominations are Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Calvin Harris, fun. and Drake.
