This is sad news but we were definitely expecting it. Amid a wife-swapping scandal, Clint Eastwood's second wife Dina has filed for legal separation from the Oscar winner after 17 years of marriage.

On Monday, the 48-year-old filed the petition in Monterey County Superior Court and is seeking spousal support and physical custody of the duo's daughter Morgan, 16.

The Monterey County Herald has reported that the document makes mention of the former couple's prenup.

The Eastwoods were married since 1996 and lived in the coastal town of Carmel, California. In 2012, Dina opened up her life to cameras when she starred in the reality show Mrs. Eastwood & Company, which follows Dina, her daughter Morgan and step daughter Francesca Fisher-Eastwood. It is believed that the split occurred due to friction between the couple over the reality show.

Clint and Dina's separation was announced in August, which was when it was reported that Dina had taken up with a family friend, Scott Fisher and that in an odd turn of events, Clint had taken up with Scott's ex-wife Erica Tomlinson-Fisher.

The Million Dollar Baby directed has been a longtime ladies man. Clint first married Maggie Johnson in 1953. The relationship lasted a decade however the couple did not legally divorce until 1984. During that period, the Dirty Harry star became involved with Outlaw Josey Wales costar Sondra Locke, whom he lived with for 14 years. While in that relationship, the Dirty Harry actor managed to father two children with a flight attendant. In 1990, the film icon met Frances Fisher on the set of his movie Pink Cadillac and the two began a five-year romance in which Clint fathered Francesca. The actor/director eventually met Dina in the mid nineties and married her on March 31, 1996.
