Taylor Swift wore a super short floral dress and bold red lips when she stepped out in New York City on Wednesday, but rather than wearing booties or kitten heels, our favorite crazy cat lady wore a pair of 5" suede Prada sandals. Meow!

When she's not strutting her stuff in sexy dresses and rompers, Taylor has been playing with her new cat, Instagramming photos with her famous friends and soon she'll be promoting The Giver, which hits theaters this August. Author and producer Lois Lowry recently chatted with MTV News about Swift's role in the film, and it though she doesn't get a lot of screen time, it sounds like her character is a hit!

T. Swizzle plays Rosemary, and Lowry tells MTV, "The role in the movie is still a small role, but it’s a crucial and very important one ... Her role in the movie is much the same in the book, except in the book she’s only remembered… And in the movie you can see the memory of her. She appears in, I don’t know the technical term would be, but you can see her. And it’s very compelling.

Lowry added, "I will tell you, she does not sing. I don’t know if it would be an appropriate thing for her to sing. It would’ve turned the movie into a musical, which it isn’t! So no, no singing." Interesting!
