Lance Armstrong is not having a good few years. The disgraced cyclist hit two parked cars on in Colorado on Dec. 28, but originally let his girlfriend, Anna Hansen, take the blame, reports the Associated Press. What a gentleman!

According to Aspen police, the 43-year-old hit the parked cars with his SUV after a night of partying in the ski town. Initially, his girlfriend told the police that she had been the one driving. However, Hansen recanted her story and admitted she lied so that the already shamed athlete would avoid media attention.

"We've had our family name smeared over every paper in the world in the last couple of years, and honestly, I've got teenagers," Hansen told police, according to NBC News. "I just wanted to protect my family because I thought 'Gosh, Anna Hansen hit some cars,' it's not going to show up in the papers, but 'Lance Armstrong hit some cars,' it's going to be a national story."
