Fight on, sk8tergirl!

Avril Lavigne just revealed that she's secretly been battling Lyme disease in the new issue of People, and the singer admits that she spent months being frightened because she had no idea what was wrong with her.

The "Complicated" songstress recalled spending her 30th birthday in Vegas, and not being able to keep up with her friends due to a lack of energy. "I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed. My friends asked, 'What's wrong?' I didn't know," she explained to the mag.

After spending months feeling lethargic and lightheaded, doctors were finally able to diagnose her illness. "I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I was bedridden for five months. I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move. I thought I was dying," she confessed.

The Canadian pop star's mother moved in with her in Ontario to help her recover, and now she's about eighty percent better. Not that it's been all smooth sailing, though! "There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand. It felt like having all your life sucked out of you," she admitted.

The blonde beauty got through the tough times with the support of her fans. "They were asking about me since I was MIA, so I mentioned to one fan directly that I wasn't feeling good. The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply," she added.

She should team up with Yolanda Foster to help find a cure!
