Seeing as she's currently embroiled in a bitter battle with ex Nick Loeb over the former couple's frozen embryos, you'd think Sofia Vergara would want to avoid the topic of kids, but clearly not!

Sofia covers the June 2015 issue of Redbook magazine, and the 42-year-old actress reveals that she HAS talked babies with current fiance Joe Manganiello!

"Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids. How am I going to say no? I tell him if we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby," she says.

So how did she know Joe was the one? "I finally realized that relationships don’t need to be so much work. Ever since we met, it’s been so easy. I’m very suspicious. I’m like, ‘It’s not normal that we’ve been together for nine months and we haven’t had a big fight or anything,'" she added. That seems like a MAJOR swipe at Loeb, who has truly dragged the starlet's name through the mud over the last few weeks.

As you may have heard, Nick is suing Sofia to prevent her from destroying embryos that were created while the two were still together. The former couple had two embryos created through in vitro fertilization just six months before they split, and though the lawsuit was first filed in August 2014, it has been amended as Loeb has retained new legal representation. In the documents, Loeb also claims Vergara was “physically and mentally abusive” towards him, even “[punching] him in the face on two occasions” and calling him “worthless.”

Earlier this month Sofia, who is currently promoting her new flop movie Hot Pursuit, chatted about the battle on ABC News, and said, "I really want to make this, like, the last time I talk about it because I don’t think it’s fair. I promote all my movies, all my work, but I don’t like promoting my private life and I don’t understand why this person…I don’t want to allow this person to take more advantage of my career and try to promote himself and get press for this." As far as what Nick had to say, it came down to one thing: The fact that he believes the two embryos that have been created have a right to live.

But the jabs at her ex seemed to stop there. On what she’s learned about men, the Modern Family starlet tells the mag, "I have learned that I have to let them be men. I think it’s very important not to try to take over on everything – even if you think you can do it easier or better. If you don’t let them do things, you create a cycle and then you complain that they never do anything."

And speaking of kids, Sofia's son Manolo graduated from college over the weekend, and the proud mom posted the pic below and wrote, "So happy🎉🎉@manologonzalezvergara #Emersongraduationweekend." Aww!
