Pirelli calendars, one of the most celebrated pin-up calendars which nude supermodels in provocative poses, is ditching the supermodels for some of the world's most inspiring women. Huh?

Instead of topless snaps of the world's biggest supermodels, the calendar's 43rd edition, which was created by Annie Leibovitz, features Serena Williams, Amy Schumer and Chinese actress Yao Chen.

The calendar has pulled 13 women which Pirelli says are of outstanding professional, social, cultural, sporting and artistic accomplishment.

By the look of things, past years seem to have been bright, bold nude fluff, while this year's calendar is very "real women have curves."

Besides Chen, Schumer and Williams, the famed calendar includes Russian model and charity founder Natalia Vodianova, producer Kathleen Kennedy, art collector and patroness Agnes Gund (with her granddaughter Sadie Rain Hope-Gund, writer Fran Lebowitz; the President of Ariel Investments, Mellody Hobson, film director Ava DuVernay.

The pages also feature blogger Tavi Gevinson, Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat, musician Yoko Ono and singer Patti Smith.

Leibovitz said of the calendar, "The 2000 Calendar was an exercise in photographing nudes. It was a simple concept. For 2016, we did something completely different, but it is still simple. It is a classic set of black-and-white portraits made in the studio."

The famed photographer, "When Pirelli approached me, they said they wanted to make a departure from the past. They suggested the idea of photographing distinguished women. After we agreed on that, the goal was to be very straightforward. I wanted the pictures to show the women exactly as they are, with no pretense."

Last year's calendar featured Karen Elson, Anna Ewers, Isabeli Fontana, Gigi Hadid, Candice Huffine, Adriana Lima, Sasha Luss, Cameron Russel, Joan Smalls, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmerman.Â
