Katie Holmes has no regrets -- or so she says.

Tom Cruise's ex Mrs. opened up to Ocean Drive magazine in its December 2015 issue about some of her choices.

"I don't regret anything that I've done," the 36-year-old told the mag. "I've learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going."

The Dawson's Creek alum was famously (and infamously) married to Cruise from 2006 to 2012. It's reported that the two split due to Cruise's allegiance to Scientology.

Despite the media melee surrounding the star's split and life after the break up, Holmes tells the publication that her life is quite normal nowadays. "I have a very normal life, and I happen to work in an industry that is abnormal. Daily life, I take a train and cab; it's just about getting from here to there, and I don't care how I do it. I have to get there," Holmes said.

The former Dawson's Creek star also said that she's loving living in New York. "If you’re having a bad day, you just take a walk, and it’s not only that you see people who are having a worse day than you, it’s just that you’re in life," Holmes reflected. "You suddenly can’t be stuck in whatever problem you’re in because you have to hail a cab or you have to get a subway ticket. There’s more than just you. And I think the harsh winters give you a little bit of character.”

But of course, the brunette said above all she loves her daughter Suri. The actress said, "Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard. You want to set an example — and, you know, [your children] are what drives you."

Ocean Drive's December 2015 issue is on stands now.
