He's a free man... for now, anyway!

Chris Brown was released on $250K bail late Tuesday night after being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon earlier in the day, and his day in court is set for September 20. TMZ reports the R&B bad boy was also tested for drugs while in custody.

Upon his release, his attorney Mark Geragos tweeted messages of his innocence. "Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy," the legal eagle wrote at 11:32PM.

CB was involved in a nearly 10 hour standoff with police at his Tarzana home yesterday, after pageant queen Baylee Curan called authorities and accused the rapper of threatening her with a gun.

He just can't seem to stay out of trouble!
