Despite George Michael’s manager releasing a statement earlier in the week that the singer had died from a heart attack, police have confirmed that the initial autopsy was "inconclusive," according to Us Weekly.

Thames Valley Police press officer Hannah Jones said in a statement on Friday, "A postmortem examination was carried out yesterday as part of the investigation into the death of George Michael. The cause of death is inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out. The results of these tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks."

The iconic singer's death is being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious." The authorities say that further tests will be administered.

The "Faith" singer was found did in his Oxfordshire, England home on Christmas Day.
