Selena Gomez broke down while thanking her best friend and kidney donor Francia Raisa who "saved [her] life," as the singer accepted the Woman of the Year award at the Billboard Women In Music event Thursday night in Los Angeles.

The bustier-clad, black leather pants-wearing blonde got teary-eyed as she said, "To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award because she saved my life." She went on to say, "Honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful for the position I’ve been given in my career from 7 to 14 to now. I want people to know that I respect the platform that I have so deeply because I knew that I wanted to be a part of something great and I wanted people to feel great because I love people."

She loves people and people love her! The social media queen and Bieber babe has had a busy year -- from her kidney transplant over the summer to releasing her new single "Wolves" and performing at the American Music Awards last month -- and she's definitely come out as a survivor. In fact, she thanked other women for inspiring her and for inspiring all women in the moment of girl power: "How crucial it is that these voices that are being heard are being heard for the first time -- it's so great and I'm so grateful for the older women who have lifted us up."

Selena said she's not sure how she'll ever repay all the support she's gotten from her friends and from fellow women in the industry but she had one idea: "Maybe I'll make an epic album next year for you guys and everyone else." We like that idea!
