They've been through a lot, but they're there for each other.

Selena Gomez revealed in the newest issue of Elle that she quietly reached out to pal Demi Lovato after the singer's overdose in July.

"All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing. I didn’t want to. I … I love her. I’ve known her since I was 7. So … it’s … that’s what I’ll say," she told the mag.

The interview's writer noted that the "Come & Get" songstress got visibly choked up while discussing her longtime friend's battle with addiction. The sit-down took place just six days after Lovato was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

Although they had a brief falling out, the pair mended their friendship in 2017 and have been close since then.

"Demi and Selena rekindled recently. They’re cool now. Demi’s documentary [Simply Complicated Opens a New Window. ] really inspired her to rebuild relationships in her life, and Selena was one of those relationships she wanted to make better. They’re friends again. … There wasn’t one main reason that even broke them apart — a lot of their beef was just them being young girls," a source told Us Weekly at the time.

Nothing is easy in the limelight.
