Adam Lambert is honored in Out magazine’s Out 100, and the American Idol alum slathered on the makeup to re-enact a pose as Elvis Presley from Andy Warhol's iconic print. Loves it!
Adam reveals that Madonna and Michael Jackson were his biggest artistic influences growing up, telling the mag, "They were king and queen. And they both wore just as much makeup and were fabulous in their outfits and had music videos that were theatrical and cinematic, and that’s kind of the type of artist I see myself as—one that wants to create from the ground up, not only an amazing song, but on with a beat and a story and a look and a theme."
So what about his own music? "I want to make the kind of music I would listen to if I were out in a club," he says. Adam is putting the finishing touches on his second album, and it seems like he had far more control over this record than his first. "This is definitely the album that I want to make," he says.

Not surprisingly, Adam also weighs in on his personal life and what it means for his public image. "I think the hardest thing about being a gay celebrity is that we’re in the middle of a social rights movement and it’s a very hot topic, so we’re at a very pivotal time," he tells the mag. "Coming out was great, but there are certain issues that always surprise me and I think, Why is this an issue? I live and I’ve grown up in a space that is very accepting and open-minded; I surround myself socially with people that are artists and very bohemian and I forget sometimes that, OK, we’re dealing with mainstream culture now, which does not have the same mentality as I do."

He did not!! Elvis is rolling in his grave right now!
Right, which is exactly why you hosed your chance at fame. Adam, Just because you are gay doesnt mean you have to parade down the street in rainbow colored underwear. Adam, you need to find a happy medium so people can listen and focus on your music and not your gay agenda. A lot of talent is being wasted because ADAM is out of touch, not the rest of society. Put down the flag already and concentrate on the music.
Oh I want 2 be cowboy and Jane Russel.. what to do, what to do.. The only thing original about this tubby ? fool is he's never him self.. Puff the magic dragon..
Another too freckled freak.
Try to be human first, then gay...it might work for you.
no matter what they say to you, stars always shine
if any of you detractors would just read and actually try to digest what Adam says you may reach a better understanding of him. Give it a try BEFORE posting brainless comments.
What I and his many fans respect about Adam Lambert is his honesty and integrity. He is who he is with no apology. He is one of the most generous, likable performers out there. He doesn't have a envious, mean bone in his body and gives us true entertainment. His vocal range and delivery are first class. He is ADAM, and has never wanted to be anyone else. His comparison to Elvis is his charisma, sex appeal ,warm, accessibility and connection to his fans. He is truly loved and respected. He ignores the ignorant, cruel, envious haters and goes on to say, "Love overcomes hate." I and millions agree.
The ignorance and cruelty of these homophobic posters is astounding and shows what little they actually know of Adam Lambert. Adam has raised 323,000.00 for Charity Water to give over 16,000 people fresh drinking water. He also raised over 250,000 for Donors Choose, to give children in public schools supplies and instruments in the art progams that have lost funding. What humanitarian feats have you haters done to improve anyone's quality of life or to spread happiness? You must really be envious, petty human beings to spread such negativity. Adam spreads joy, not cruelty.Hope you're proud of yourselves...
I don't see how his music is suffering because of his sexual preference. I like the pic and if Lindsay Lohan can constantly do Marilyn Monroe than Adam can pose as Elvis. He is talented. I will never forget his version of Mad World, it was amazing. He has an amazing voice and I like him. I am sure his openess has saved young gay people's lives.
