No Big Surprise: Adam Lambert Says He's Gay

Adam Lambert is finally addressing the rumors about his sexuality head on.
"I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay," Lambert says in the new issue of Rolling Stone, hitting newsstands this week.
Shocking right? So why did he wait so long to just say what everyone pretty much already knew?
"Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler.'" he tells the mag. "I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context.
"I'm proud of my sexuality," Lambert continues. "I embrace it. It’s just another part of me."

And it doesn't look like this so-called "admission" is going to dampen his chances of stardom.
He's just inked a deal with 19 Entertainment and RCA. Expect Adam's first CD to be released this fall.

The "clay aiken thing" was an absolute disgrace the way he lied time and time again to his devoted fans. To Anonymous @ 10:49 a.m., Clay never lied, he just avoided the question. That was also 6 years ago. Things were a little bit different then and who knows what his management, record label, etc. advised him to do. There was also an age difference: Adam 27 or 28, Clay 23. No one should have to "come out" until they are ready, especially to the whole world.

It is a bit upsetting when I saw how many ex-claymates seemed really hurt by it all. No, they were not forced to give up their money bla bla. People in my office used to get in shouting matches when the gay thing came up. "HE"S NOT GAY!!!!!!" I myself have never heard his music, do they even play it on the radio? So I can't have an objective opinion of the guy. I just posted on what I've obsereved which is many people seem let down about it. I always thought A.I. was a show geared to finding an amateur as the next recording artist. I found Adam too professional. I thought he sounded the same week after week. I don't see him as a role model, certainly not after reading he was into drugs. Also, we found out later he was already "signed" as early as January prior to becoming a contestant and wrote 9 of the 11 songs on a record that hadn't yet been released. He violated the rules. Surely, he must have known he signed a deal with someone. His rationale was really lame saying he sang songs others wrote, which wasn't true & that he never had intended for it to be released. Then why did he do it? What's the purpose of doing a demo with the intention of it never being released? Now it's too late to do anything about it. He lied & should have been disqualified as a contestant. What a tool he is!
