Big Green Al Goes Red Carpet
Posted on Mon Feb 26, 2007 03:06 PM PDT

What, you thought it was all shapely young starlets on the red carpet last night? Former Vice President (and Oscar-feted documentary subject) Al Gore may be many things to many people, but "shapely" and "young" ain't on the list. (I guess that's why he brought his daughter Kristen - well, either that or the former VP needed some jokes from his Futurama-scripting little girl!
Ceeeeeelebrate good times, come on! "I will!"

POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER 'TRUTH'
Mon Feb 26 2007 17:16:14 ET
The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:
Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

This is the type of hypocrisy that just blows my mind. Of course you wont see it covered in the main stream media. If people like him are so concerned he should be driving a Prius and living in a 1000 sq ft home, but that is only for the lower classes. Lets don't forget all of his jet setting in the private jet. Dumping more pollution into the atmosphere in one year than my SUV will in a lifetime. More hypocrisy. Screw Gore and all of his hollywood do gooders with their limos and multiple houses. I going to drive my damn SUV as long as I can afford to.

He invented carbon free now? According to his comfort zone which is apparently cool and comfy in the southern heat and humidity...oh yeah...and the rest of us need to turn off our AC so he can turn his on. The Hollywood glitterati seemed awed and inspired at his feet and ready to follow him anywhere...dumbclucks!!!!
I'll believe global warming when someone can accurate tell me if it is going to rain tomorrow.
That fat ass Gore spends a lot of time in limos and needs to spend more time riding a bike.
I remember, back in the day, Tipper pushing for censorship for music lyrics. I'm surprised they are even allowed in Hollyweird. He narrated a movie that was nominated. He didn't win a thing - throw him off the stage.
Control Freaks!!
If al realy conserned of this global warming,he should cut first his electricity used before he tells us what to do.Hipicrat, dishonest politican
with his privet jet he creates more polution then 1000 everadge american in a year.Shame on you Al.You just want a taxbase for your croniesie.( scientist)
