Alec Baldwin Deletes Twitter Account After Being Kicked Off American Airlines Flight

Dec 7, 2011 10:40 AM

abaldwin012110_01_X17WM230.jpgAlec Baldwin is no longer on Twitter after getting kicked off an American Airlines flight on Tuesday for using his cell phone. The 30 Rock actor was reportedly playing the game "Words With Friends" while the plane sat at the gate.

His last Tweeted said:

“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt ... But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American. #theresalwaysunited ... United Airlines should buy Words With Friends ... Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950s find jobs as flight attendants.”

The airline fought back with the following message:

"Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter as well as the FAA regulations which American, and all airlines, must enforce ... This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked.

Alec Baldwin Kicked Off American Airlines Flight For Using Cell Phone

Dec 6, 2011 03:52 PM

alec-baldwin-airline.jpgAlec Baldwin was kicked off his American Airlines flight from LAX this afternoon after he was caught playing a game on his cell phone shortly before takeoff.

Baldwin's rep told Us Weekly, "Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing Words with Friends while parked at the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight." Ha!

Baldwin tweeted, "The flight attendant on American reamed me out for playing Words With Friends while we sat at the gate, not moving. No wonder American Air is bankrupt ... The real way is United."

Interestingly enough, almost exactly a year ago actor Josh Duhamel was kicked off a flight after refusing to turn off his BlackBerry before takeoff. What is it with celebs and airline regulations? Sheesh!

Sep 19, 2011 11:50 AM

Even after getting criticism from followers, Baldwin wouldn't budge. He Tweeted, "Anyone who thinks that quoting the title of that song is racist is a disgrace. To the human race."

Alec Baldwin Pulls Out Of The Emmys After His Rupert Murdoch Joke Is Cut By Fox Producers

Sep 18, 2011 05:03 PM

alec-baldwin-emmys.jpgAfter Fox producers cut his joke about News Corp. exec Rupert Murdoch, Alec Baldwin is canceling his scheduled appearance at the 2011 Emmy Awards.

In the skit, Baldwin plays a fictional TV studio president, and the scene in question reportedly had the 30 Rock star asking whether Mr. Murdoch was listening in on a phone call, which pokes fun at the hacking scandal that tarnished News Corp.'s reputation earlier this year. So what's the big deal? Turns out Fox is owned by News Corp, and a spokesperson for the network tells the Wall Street Journal that the segment was not cut because it mentioned Murdoch, but rather because they take the hacking scandal seriously and found the comment to be in “poor taste.”

Leonard Nimoy will replace Baldwin in the segment, and a source close to the actor says he canceled his appearance because he felt that cutting the joke would disrupt the comedic timing of the whole skit. “I did a short Emmy pretape a few days ago. Now they tell me News Corp cut the funniest line,” Baldwin tweeted last week.

Alec Baldwin Considering Mayoral Run

Aug 10, 2011 11:30 AM

BaldwinRun.jpgAlec Baldwin is thinking about running for mayor of New York.

The 53-year-old actor told The New York Times he's been in touch with universities to enroll in a master's program about politics and government.

We love that Baldwin wants to get educated before going political! That's the smart way to do it!

A 2013 run wouldn't be possible because of his 30 Rock schedule, but Baldwin is thinking ahead.

A longtime New Yorker, Baldwin has been a political activist in the past.

Alec Baldwin Considering A Run For Mayor of NYC

Jun 8, 2011 09:40 AM

baldwin230WM.jpgMove over Arnold Schwarzenegger! Alec Baldwin may become the latest actor-turned-politician to run for office.

A source tells The Daily that the 30 Rock star is "mulling over a 2013 run for the Mayorship of New York City."

Baldwin's rep released the following statement:

    "I wouldn't rule it out."

With all the drama surrounding the online photo scandal involving politician Anthony Weiner, a source close to Baldwin adds that "the scandal may have opened the door" for the actor to move into the political spotlight. At a press conference on Monday, Weiner, 46, admitted to having online affairs with six women in the past three years. He also confessed that lewd photos online were, indeed, him.

Baldwin recently hit up Twitter to voice his suggestions regarding national policy. Read what he had to say ... after the jump.

May 31, 2011 01:30 PM

We've been blessed with glorious shots of Julianne Hough frolicking in a bikini in Miami on the set of Rock of Ages and now for a sillier shot ... Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin in full 80's gear on the set of the upcoming musical comedy.

Alec tweeted this morning, "On the set with the one and only Russell Brand."

The actors portray a music club owner and his assistant, but it's a little unclear as to why the duo is filming at a carnival.

Either way, Alec is looking quite epic with those long blonde locks. Jack, would be proud!
