As Alicia Keys prepared to enter the Beverly Hilton Saturday night -- just hours after Whitney Houston was found dead in her 4th-floor room at the hotel -- she stopped for a long embrace with her mentor Clive Davis.

Davis made the decision not to cancel his annual pre-Grammy party, despite Houston's passing -- but the mood of the event quickly shifted after news of the singer's death spread.

Clive Davis discovered Alicia Keys and set her on the path to winning five Grammys in 2002. Keys often compared the young star to his original protege, Whitney.

At the beginning of the evening, Davis read from a paper, to the crowd: ""I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me. She was full of life, looking forward for tonight. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrated music. Whitney was a beautiful person and she had a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage ... so many times. So simply put: Whitney would have wanted the music to go on."

Alicia Keys, Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore are three of the most gorgeous directors in Hollywood! The threesome, who directed short films for Lifetime's Five, are gracing the cover of September's Glamour magazine.

Lifetime's Five is comprised of five short films about breast cancer directed by five different directors.

When asked about her involvement, Ms. Aniston tells the mag:

“We were intrigued by the challenge of creating short stories that would defy audiences’ expectation of the subject. We wanted to balance the drama with humor and irreverence because that’s what’s helped our friends who’ve faced this get through their treatment."

The Friends star, who is dating Justin Theroux, also address the tabloids:

“There’s not nearly as much stealing and obsessing and middle-of-the-night secret calls to ex-boyfriends and scheming and cheating [as they lead you to believe]. Most of it’s just bulls—, however entertaining.”

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz welcomed a baby boy, Egypt Daoud Dean yesterday in New York City.

Beatz (nee Kasseem Dean) Tweeted today: "I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!"

Keys, 29, and Beatz, 32, wed in a private ceremony in France in July. This is Keys' first child; Beatz has three children from previous relationships.

Alicia Keys has wed her longtime beau Swizz Beatz, her rep has confirmed.

The couple announced their engagement in late May, and they also surprised fans by revealing that the Grammy winning singer was pregnant.

Their wedding was held at a private home on the Mediterranean Sea, and Keys wore an ivory Vera Wang gown with jewel detail on the back shoulder. She carried a bouquet of purple calla lilies, and Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the ceremony.

Not only is Grammy winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys engaged to be married to longtime boyfriend Swizz Beatz, but the couple are also expecting a baby!

A rep for the duo confirmed the news to Life & Style, and a close friend tells the mag they are "very happy" about the news.

Carrie Underwood is set to perform on American Idol's huge televised benefit, Idol Gives Back on April 21st, along with Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas and Annie Lennox.

It won't be the first time Idol's most successful contestant has returned to the stage that rocket-launched her career. In addition to appearing on the show to perform her hits, she's also participated in every benefit since it began in 2007.

In the past, Idol Gives Back has raised more than $140 million dollars. Proceeds this year will go to Children's Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children's U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation.
