Courtney Love and her family sure love to dole out sage advice on Twitter. And Amanda Bynes sure loves to call people ugly on Twitter.

Courtney tweeted "Amanda Bynes pull it together dude" this morning following Amanda's arrest last week. The "retired" actress charged with marijuana possession, reckless endangerment, and attempted evidence tampering.

Amanda fired back with her favorite insult and called Courtney ugly. "Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen," she tweeted back. "To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!" However, the actress sent her message to E! Online, instead of Courtney directly.

If you're keeping track, she's also called Rihanna, Jenny McCarthy, and Jay-Z ugly.

Comedian Joel McHale, among other celebs, laughed off Courtney's hypocritical comments. "My largest spit-take since 1988. Thank you Courtney," Joel tweeted.

Courtney's daughter Frances Bean Cobain called reality star Kendall Jenner a "f--king idiot" last week for tweeting that she wished "things could be easier." You know what hey say ... like mother, like daughter.

Update: Courtney has now tweeted a semi-retraction. "Amanda, I wasn't attacking you love. I've been in your shoes before, wasn't easy. DM me, let's talk. Ignore the haters," she wrote.

"Will you people lay off on giving this girl such grief?" she continued in a another tweet. "Shes a beautiful talented young woman, we all go through our ups and downs. grow up!"

After being arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and two other offenses last Friday (not to mention getting held for a psych evaluation), Amanda Bynes has taken to Twitter to bash everyone from the NYPD to Rihanna, and now she's going after her parents.

Bynes is sticking to her story that a police officer sexually assaulted her (she claims he "slapped her va**na"), and she says she will also be taking legal action against her mother and father for mismanaging her finances.

The starlet wrote on Twitter:

"... to say I wasn't offended being treated like a mental insane person/criminal on the night the cops illegally entered my apartment, found nothing, sexually assaulted me, then arrested me taking me to a mental hospital, then locking me up all night for no wrong doing us criminal on THEIR part.

My lawyer and I are taking this mistake extremely seriously! You cannot illegally enter my apartment then take me to mental hospital without any grounds. I have never been so offended in my life. They found nothing criminal on me or around me, one cop then sexually assaulted me, so I'm suing for all of the above! I'll be happy when I get money compensation from the cop who assaulted me and NYPD for wrongfully arresting me and having me put into a mental hospital and jail overnight!

I don't want to keep talking about it. My lawyer is taking care of it for me. My real friends don't talk about me on twitter.

Also, never trust or listen to a word any person from my family says to the press. I am suing them for money laundering/unethical manager work, I never signed a contract with them, and they had been stealing my money without me knowing, claiming they were managing me somehow when they have no right to act as if they did anything to help or enhance my career and I want $ back that I earned on my own. I'm 27 and don't like when press talks to my parents. My parents are almost 70 years old. We are no longer on speaking terms. I would rather them be homeless than live off of my money."

Interestingly enough, when we asked X17 readers what you thought was best for Amanda, 44% of you said her parents should get a conservatorship, 31% said she should go to rehab, 17% of you said she should go to jail and 7% think she should stay free.

Amanda Bynes lashed out at an unsuspecting target Sunday on Twitter -- Rihanna!

The troubled former actress began by Tweeted at the singer: "@rihanna you look so ugly tryin to be white." She deleted the post two minutes later. Then she started up again, claiming Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna (referring to the 2009 incident), because she's not attractive: "Chris Brown beat you because you're not pretty enough."

Then Amanda re-Tweeted a post by Rihanna that read: "'Look who came to see me!! My lover Stella McCartney!!!," to which Bynes replied, "No one wants to be your lover so you call everyone and their mother that I almost named my new dog Rihanna."

And to that, Rihanna responded, "Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention," referring to the popular reality show.

Then, perhaps the most ironic Tweet of all, from Amanda: "Unlike ur fugly faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met ur ugly face in person! U aren't pretty u know it!"

Is Amanda jealous because Drake murdered Rihanna's v**ina hooked up with Ri way back when?

Wow -- a "statement" distributed by Amanda Bynes' official publicist, Twitter, while the actress was out shopping for wigs yesterday and hiding from photographers:

"Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies. I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me.

He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my v*gina. Sexual harassment. Big deal.

I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated. Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive.

I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me. The cops were creepy. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go. Don't believe any reports."

Over the last 24 hours Amanda Bynes has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence in New York, but her legal woes could continue if prosecutors in California determine that she is in violation of her probation.

As you may know, Bynes was put on three years of summary probation earlier this month for driving on a suspended license, and Burbank District Attorney Denny Wei tells X17online.com that if the 27-year-old starlet is found to be in violation of her probation, she could face a maximum of 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine!

Wei tells us that a prosecuting agency (i.e., NYPD) will generally mail or fax a report to inform the DA that someone may be in violation of their probation, and from there the DA's office will review the case and decide whether they want to file a motion.

However, Wei says the DA's office has yet to receive any such report from New York, and generally they wait until there has been a conviction, at which point they "will take the appropriate action." Furthermore, the DA's office may not even decide to do anything until the New York case is finished, and though they could file before there is a conviction, they would need to present evidence of an actual violation. At this point, they have nothing, so it seems like Bynes might be safe for a while.

"We will treat this case like any other case -- it won't be handled any differently," Wei added. As far as jail time, 6 months is the maximum sentence, but due to overcrowding in jail (and the fact that this would be Bynes' first violation), it's highly unlikely that she will spend a significant amount of time behind bars. However, if she doesn't show up to her court date, she could be in big trouble on both coasts.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Neil Ross warned Bynes this morning that if she missed her July 9 hearing, an arrest warrant would be issued and he would set “very significant bail.”

This whole saga is sounding very Britney Spears-esque!

Even before Amanda Bynes' latest arrest in N.Y.C. last night, her parents Rick and Lynn were concerned enough about their daughter's erratic behavior to consult with lawyers about obtaining a conservatorship, Radar reports.

"Rick & Lynn have met with several lawyers that handle conservatorships in the past month, because they want to get a conservatorship over their daughter. They have been advised that even as disturbing as Amanda's behavior is, it's very unlikely that a judge would sign off on a temporary conservatorship," a source dishes.

The troubled actress is so unpredictable that she even reportedly called 911 on herself the night of her marijuana bust!

"She called 911, saying the cops were going to assault her," In Touch sources claim.

Her parents want to get her the help she desperately needs, but it looks like they might not have the best of luck!

"Conservatorships are very hard to get, and being mentally ill and addicted to drugs isn't enough. Amanda hasn't ever been to rehab or ever agreed to see a mental health professional. Her parents are absolutely powerless to do anything at this point," a source adds.

Though prosecutors requested that the 27-year-old actress be held in lieu of $1,000 bail, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Neil Ross decided to release her without bail. Despite appearing lenient with the starlet, Ross warned Bynes that if she missed her July 9 court date, an arrest warrant would be issued and he would set “very significant bail.”

According to the NY Daily News, Bynes engaged in an animated conversation with her attorney in the court’s soundproof box, and when she wasn’t talking, "she was making crazy faces, mumbling to herself and staring blankly through the glass."

A man in Amanda's building filed a criminal complaint after witnessing her smoking a joint in the first floor lobby, and when officers went to Amanda's room, they noticed a bong on the kitchen counter. According to the report, the cop asked Amanda about the bong, at which point she "grab[bed] said bong, [ran] to the westbound-facing window, and [threw] it out the window where numerous pedestrians were walking on the 8 Avenue and West 47 Street sidewalks below." According to TMZ, Bynes told the judge she didn't throw a bong out of her window -- rather, it was "just a vase."

Last night Bynes was held temporarily for psychiatric testing at the Roosevelt Hospital, she was booked at the police station, where she took two mugshots -- one with her platinum blonde wig, one without.

Bynes left court just after 11am, and she hopped in a taxi and took off. Hopefully she can see where she's going!
