American Idol's Lauren Alaina Forgets Lyrics To "Star Spangled Banner"
Posted on Fri Nov 25, 2011 08:50 AM PDT
Following in the footsteps of her American Idol colleague Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina forget the words to a portion of the "Star Spangled Banner" while performing at the Detroit Lions/Green Bay Packers game. However, the blonde cutie recovered well.
After singing the line, "What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's ...," the country star went silent for a few notes ... but then picked back up. Whew!
Alaina later Tweeted:
- "I'm not a robot. I have No excuses. I messed up. You know what can ya do. At least didn't fall down again. Thank you everyone for the kind words. But the truth is I messed up. I'm gonna spend the rest of the day being thankful for all my blessings."
As for Scotty McCreery's "Star Spangled" mess-up, it happened at the World Series back in October. Even Christina Aguilera botched the lyrics to the song at the Super Bowl.
It happens to the best of them!
Do you think it was nerves ... or did she just forget the lyrics?

Still love her voice.
How refreshing for a celeb to own their mistake.
She was nervous and young and yet chose not to make any excuses.
Older celebs need to learn from a classy girl with a lovely voice.
At least she wasn't drunk like some Un-American singers.
its better to forget lyrics and signing live than lip syncing
Scotty and Lauren are wonderful young adults. I could never get up and sing like that at all much less not forget words. As for Scotty....like people don't know some artists use tracks sometimes instead of singing live. They are good kids.
Poor thing! She still sounded beautiful!
She should stop being fat
