I hear David Cook and Jordin Sparks on the radio a lot more than David A. and the beatboxing guy. I don't think those runners-up have one hit song. I can't even remember anything about the runner-ups during Fantasia and Carrie's season.

Total myth that the runner up is more successful, just ask Justin Guarini and Bo Bice. David Cook sold twice as many CDs as Archie, more digital downloads, has had way more radio airplay, more national TV appearances, more sold out shows and has 3 platinum records to Archie's 1. Cook is driving a brand new Range Rover; Archuleta drives his mother's mini-van.

cook is a bore, dewyze can't sing.. the runners ups are way more interesting musically than these two. cook is so whitebread vanilla i don't see how he even rates a mention, same for no singing lee. slow news day, for real.

cook is having to sell out on his 2nd cd, going more pop in order to get what archuleta has - a monster pop hit. archuleta has remained true to himself musically, has increased his visibility and profile without propping up or help from the idol machine. cook is less interesting musically than archuleta, same for dewyze. bowersox is way more interesting, and people will gravitate towards and care more about her and archuleta more than the winners of their seasons. truth hurts, and cd sales have nothing to do with it. cook has outsold adam lambert, but lambert has taken priority over him on his label, and in the media. he's just more interesting than cook and dewyze rolled together. these 2 have to be the most boring winners ever.

The bitterness by this 'writer' is just sad. Look at the numbers - they don't like. Cook has sold a significant more number of albums than Archuleta. Same goes for Kelly, Carrie and Jordin. Sorry that your favorite didn't win.

Why the bitterness at all....all of the Idols are pursuing their dream of being singers, and none want to go the same road!!! It's not oranges and oranges....and not every singer wants to just sing...they want to become artists, which encompasses much more the just singing!!!! Just sayin.....

Archuleta has shown variety of talent in the short span of two years after idol; a pop album, a smash single (2 million downloads), cameo roles on TV shows, a Christmas album, a best selling book. The next pop album will be out in this coming fall. He also has agenda to tap into the Latino music, which Archuleta mentioned a desire to produce a Spanish album. Someday, I think, he will have CDs with inspirational songs, patriotic songs, Disney movie tracks and more. At 19, he already has shown so much talent and potential. For the record, he still drives Toyota Prius given by Idol two years ago. This penny pincher doesn't spend much money for himself and is the most humble celebrity you would ever find in the business.

Ruben, Fantasia sold multi-platinum albums too but nobody remembers what songs they sang. I don't understand why voters keep picking Daughtry 2.0s who fail to reach the expected level of success, and as a result, runner-ups are more interesting and different.
