Pia Toscano Eliminated From American Idol, Judges Angered By Decision

Yes, you read the title correctly! The beautiful Pia Toscano was sent home last night on American Idol, and the panel of judges were not pleased with that decision.
Host Ryan Seacrest announced at the beginning of the show that the hour would be "a very shocking results night." He couldn't have said it better.
After the announcement was made, the judges didn't hold back their thoughts. An emotional Jennifer Lopez told the crowd, "I have no idea what just happened here."
Randy Jackson said the following:
- "You're one of the best singers. This makes me mad."
As for Steven Tyler, he spoke directly to the voting audience. The Aerosmith frontman said, "A mistake is one thing, but a lack of passion is unforgiveable."
This week, Pia sang Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High." Guess the AI voters weren't feelin' it!

this show is a joke..its a popularity contest and not a singing contest.that james or scotty will end up winning because the tween girls will vote for them.

America voters for Pia were simply too confident. Pia is simply too good. But the system to win is for more votes. Maybe this system need to change.
You can only blame the judges for this, bearded boy should have never been saved. Also they say oh everyone is so great they give us goose bumps then at the end of the show they say tuff choice america we dont know then they act like they shocked start telling the contestants what there flaws are and not making it seem like they perfect America does consider the judges analysis of the singers
The judges are out of it now, they really don't have a job anymore other than to tell the contestant that they look good or sung well. It is up to the people who are voting that make who are the judges now. All of the finalists are good, really good. It will be a shock next week when someone gets cuts. Get over it. This year it definitely is a popularity contest, not a talent contest.
I can't believe people get so upset about a television show. Everyone should get so excited about voting during our political elections, which actually has real life implications.

I cant believe this. Pia was the best singers there. Stefano should have totally left. He closes his eyes while he sings. This is an outrage. The juges shouldn't have save the guy with the beard. They should have saved it for someone (like Pia) who would actually have a chance at winning this competition. She's pretty much the whole package. Sorry to say, but Stefano, you should be gone.

Announcement of # of votes is a joke. 30 million votes may actually represent say 3 million votes since many fans will vote multiple times! So results do not reflect actual number of people voting per contestant. Idol is over for me this year. First, Adam, then Crystal (at least they made it to the final 2), and now Pia. Of course, non-winners have done often done MUCH BETTER than the winners!!!! Why...because now you're talking about actual nubmer of fans per person...not some multiplier based on number of votes per fan.

This was a garbage result that highlights two problems with Idol. First, the judges used the save too early—Jennifer and Steven are new, but they should have known better. I yelled at the TV the night they saved Casey and hoped it wouldn’t come back to haunt the show. Wow, did it ever. Pia is the kind of singer you use the save on. I think the judges know they messed up (though, they can't admit it--wouldn't be fair to Casey)—you could see it on their faces. The second problem is the voting system. No adult is willing to spend hours on the phone mad-dialing their favorites, that means tween girls without lives decide the winner and that’s a tragedy, because last night, they voted me off the show, too. Idol is no longer a singing competition and the results of the show actually made me angry. Who needs more anger? I don’t—I’m done with idol.
I've to say one thing...I MISS SIMON SOOOO MUCH!! Seriously! Don't know why, but everything goes right when he's still sit on judge's chair. Maybe He always get "boo" from the audience. Then what? He always speak the truth about the contestant talent. This season, guy contestants are so much lack of talent than the girls. It's a fact! Why can't people see that? I'm sure if Simon still there, this thing would NEVER happen! It's because voters would wote mostly based on judges comment. And I thought Randy, J-Lo, and Steven aren't the people who could give the right comment...

american people cant even vote for the correct president for office, Pia for president.
Pia was too boring!! The judges were wrong to make such a big deal of her being voted off. She deserved to go!!
Change the rules. Another save is necessary. I have lost all interest in the remaining segments. Save her and drop two more the following week. Show is now a loser Randy shold become her producer.
