Tyra Banks came under fire earlier this year after saying to Ward, "You have the smallest waist in the world. Look at that waist!" Banks said that during a CW promo for ANTM in which judge Miss J Alexander stood behind the model and put his hands around her midsection.
Banks later apologized for the way the promo was edited saying,
- "As a leader in celebrating and promoting healthy body image, I must admit that I regrettably didn’t see this clip before it was released to the public. But on behalf of the Top Model team, these were not the intentions, and we truly apologize for any confusion, anger or disappointment it may have caused."
19-year-old Ward receives a $100-thousand contract with Cover Girl cosmetics.

Total freak show. That is so disgusting.
I do not think that Tyra did anything wrong. As soon as you looked at that model, you could immediately tell that she was not healthy. I believe that she has an eating disorder, because she kept saying that she wanted to lose more weight. I just hope she gets the help she most definitely needs.
This is clearly not fashion-wise choice - it's Tyra's HUGE EGO choice. She wanted to show that someone awkward and socially disabled can win ANTM. Luckily, winners of this show don't have promissing careers. This too shall pass...

I agree with sheraqueen..I have watch ANTM since the beginning. If you would have saw this season, Tyra did let someone go for being very anorexic. Ann did a great job of posing especially when her prize was for Italian Vogue. She has the look for that magazine for sure. I think it is a great show. For others you all may like shows like 16 and pregnant or Jersey Show..Now that is some real great shows to watch...NOT!!!!!
