Amy Winehouse's Father Mitch To Pen Memoir About Late Singer
Posted on Mon Oct 10, 2011 01:15 PM PDT
Amy Winehouse's father Mitch is set to write a book about the late singer, and it will cover everything from her childhood to her struggles with substance abuse.
HarperCollins announced that Amy, My Daughter will be released next summer, and proceeds from the book will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which helps provide support and care for troubled youth.
The Grammy winning singer died in July at the age of 27, and though the cause of her death is still not known, it's widely speculated that her longtime battle with drug and alcohol addiction played a role in her passing.
An exec for the publishing company said in a statement, “Amy, My Daughter will be a must read for Amy’s legions of fans, and also a heart-breaking account of a father’s love for his lost daughter that will speak to any parent.”
