Anderson Cooper is sending well wishes to journalist Lara Logan who was brutally assaulted days ago by a group of men while reporting from Egypt.
The 43-year-old CNN anchor tweeted:
- "Sickened and saddened by the attack on Lara Logan. She is in all of our thoughts and prayers.â€
Logan's attack occurred at Tahrir Square while she was covering a mob scene. As for Cooper, he recently escaped a mob attack on the streets of Cairo.
CBS released a statement saying Logan was rescued from the angry mob by a group of women and Egyptian soldiers. After a brief hospital stay, she's now recovering at her home near Washington D.C.
Read the network's entire statement ... after the jump.
"Lara Logan ... and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy. In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers."
We wish her a speedy recovery.
