The A-list couple have been in the news recently due to Jolie's decision to undergo a double mastectomy to to reduce her high risk of breast cancer. According to reports, she plans to have her ovaries removed next while Brad has been nothing but supportive to his wife's cause.

"I’ll tell you, it's such a wonderful relief to come through this and not have a spectre hanging over our heads," he said. "To know that that's not going to be something that's going to affect us. My most proudest thing is our family. This isn't going to get that."

Angelina Jolie recently underwent a preventative double mastectomy after learning she carried the BRCA1 gene that puts her at an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer, but she opted to postpone having her ovaries removed for the time being.

Could the actress be waiting to undergo the surgery in hopes of having more children?

It seems quite possible. At 37-years-old, the Oscar winner is still in her child bearing years, and while sources tell People she plans on having the procedure, nothing has been put into motion yet.

Angie and Brad have to create at least one more beautiful baby before calling it quits on expanding their family!

She's lucky to have such a supportive sweetie!

Following Angelina Jolie's admission in a New York Times op-ed piece that she recently underwent a preventative double mastectomy after learning she carried the BRCA1 gene that greatly increased her chances of breast and ovarian cancer, her partner Brad Pitt is speaking out about her bravery regarding the difficult decision.

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family," he gushed to the The London Evening Standard.

The Oscar winner revealed her decision to undergo the operation was heavily influenced by the love she has for her brood and her beau.

"I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer. It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that's it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was," Jolie wrote in the piece.

Angelina Jolie announced in a New York Times op-ed piece on Tuesday, that she has undergone a preventative double mastectomy.

The actress learned she carries the BRCA1 gene, which significantly increases a carrier's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.

"My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman. Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."

Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of breast cancer in 2007 at age 56.

Angelina explains that she finished three months of treatment on April 27 (just a week after the above photos were taken) and writes: "During that time I have been able to keep this private and to carry on with my work."

She details the procedures, which began with "nipple delay," in which the ducts behind the nipples are tested in order to rule out disease there and to save the nipple. Two weeks later she had the major surgery, to remove the breast tissue. Then nine weeks later, the final surgery to reconstruct the breasts and insert permanent implants.

Angelina explained her reasons for going public about the procedure:

"I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.

It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was."

She goes on to thank her "partner," Brad Pitt, who she describes as "loving and supportive."

Jolie urges women to get tested and to "take control" of life's challenges.

How cute are Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt?!

On Sunday we snapped Brangelina's twins shopping with their manny in Los Angeles, and we can't believe how fast they're growing up!

Vivienne wore a pair of combat boot-inspired Converse shoes and tights, and we couldn't help but notice the fake tattoos covering her arms. Like mother like daughter?

Back in 2011 Knox and Vivi's big sister Shiloh was photographed with a temporary tattoo on her leg, and when asked about her middle daughter's funky style, Angelina told Reuters, "Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth. Society always has something to learn when it comes to the way we judge each other, label each other. We have far to go."

But at what age would mom let her little ones get the real thing?

Angelina Jolie Speaks About Wartime Violence Against Women At G8 Meeting

Apr 11, 2013 09:59 AM

Angelina Jolie and British Foreign Secretary Wiliam Hague spoke today at the G8 Foreign Ministers meeting in London, and the Oscar winner announced that the G8 nations will be funding an additional $36 million toward efforts to prevent sexual violence.

Jolie, who currently serves as a special envoy for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, said during her speech, "Hundreds of thousands of women and children have been sexually assaulted in the wars of our generation. But wartime rape is not inevitable. This violence can be prevented, and it must be confronted. I have heard survivors of rape from Bosnia to (the Congo) say that the world simply does not care about them. But today I believe that their voices have been heard, and that we finally have some hope to offer them."

She added, "It is encouraging to see men in leadership positions speaking out against rape. Rape is not a women's issue, or a humanitarian issue, it is a global issue."
