Wow, I am in awe of her courage. She clearly wants to make the world a better palce. Hollywood take notes. We should ALL take notes.

Why not do something for THIS country?? I get that they are humanitarians but come on, the U.S. needs help too.

They helped Katrina victims by building new homes for them. They have done alot for U.S. charities. Duh!

They are doing a lot good in Us too. They are buliding houses for kartina victims,helped out cancer center in that later named on the name of Brad's mom,support brad's bro charity to help kids that needed clothing and other vital things to put them back in school. ect.

What do they actually do for people other than make sad faces, and what are their true donations vs what they claim. It's not a sacrifice to travel around the world on a private plane, take a sad faced photo, and then beat sand, and then be lauded as a saint. Most people would be willing to make this great "sacrifice."

In almost 5 years, Pitt's charity has housed 12 families. They have taken out loans to do so. Thousands were displaces. Thousands still are.
A woman named Liz McCartney moved from Washington to New Orleans with her fiance and they have built over 200 homes. SHE is a humanitarian.
Mostly, I see Angie & Brad talking a lot & taking bows while others dig in, stay, & do the work.

We have other celebs visiting and doing for other countries yet, there's very little said about them. I appreciate what Pitt and Jolie are doing(if it comes from their hearts) but, I resent all the publicity required by them, when they do it. Photo shoots are meaningless if they're doing it for attention.

Discussing issues to find a solution and highlight the problem is a big thing not mention all the donation they give for the chairties they support. The Make It Right foundation started just 2 or 3 years ago not 5. At the start Brad donated $5million and probably more. I don't know anything about organizations and building but I doubt that if I started a charity today,tomorrow I can start buiding houses. I don't understand why people think it's okay for every other celebrity to do charity but for Brad/Angelina it's just a photo-op. They aren't doing anything different.

When every time their name appear doing good the haters write their non sense to discredit them. It is nothing new. But Brad and Angie is the biggest movie star couple in hollywood right now and because of it they eaisly get headlines and they deserved it. This IS a photo op - but to bring attention to refugees not Brad and Angie who will get $million dollar movie parts whether they do this or not. Do you really think People magazine et all would give a crap about refugees if B&A werent in the picture? Getting info about refugees into mainstream media brings publicity and hopefully donations for UNHCR's work and the other charities they support.

Because other celebs just do it and don't commercialize it for personal gain like these two.

Liz and Zack have great respect and admiration for the work Brad Pitt has done with his MIR project in the Lower Ninth. They are both very bright people and understand the differences of each project - both worthy and needed.

The St. Bernard project was dedicated to rebuilding existing homes and making them livable again. A very worthy project but a completely different project from Make It Right.

Do not use Liz and Zack in some misguided attack on others who are helping the people of New Orleans. They would be appalled by you. Your time would be beter spent educating yourself instead of spreading falsehoods which certainly do nothing to serve the residents of New Orleans.

Allegedly she's been donating 1/3 of her income for a decade. Where did it go, who has been helped. No more circular statements and aggressive attacks to silence those who question.

Without pictures like these, I would have no idea that there are 4 MILLION displaced persons in Iraq (yeah, fr the war), 2 million of which are children- call me young & shallow, but it took Brad & Angelina for me to start to learn about refugees and failing levees. Quite frankly, the "news" papers/programs don't do a great job covering this stuff...well, at least we all know about the Odom wedding. BTW, DIRECTLY bc of Jolie & Pitt's telling us these noble causes we (& sev of our friends) have made donations to them- I would say they are very much making a difference.

For all the people who say we should applaud Brad and Angelina. They have been applauded to death for the past five years. There are lots of other people who do more than fly in for a quick photo and throw around a little chump change. (Yes, in their world what they spend on charity is chump change.) Maybe it's time to start applauding some other people. You know, like those who don't need the constant applause.

I recall Jolie only once mentioning that at the time of the interview in regard to her income she saved a third, spent a third living and donated a third. This was before she was making big bucks. As for where Jolie's donations have gone there are countless articles and plenty of information about it on line. From millions of dollars in Cambodia, as well as clinics, schools, businesses, roads, wildlife preserves on two continents, a complete Millenium village, environmental projects, Native American projects, health initiatives and research, refugee survival and relief, legal assistance to refugee minors, etc etc etc. Her contributions in money alone have gone to people and projects in the United States, numerous African and Asian nations, as well as Latin America. She has made huge contributions to the United Nations, Doctors Without Borders, and other deserving organizations.

This is in dditon to her conisderable time and energy that she devotes to her causes.

The information is out there if you care to take your head out of the sand. Stop pretending this info doesn't exist. Criticism of her for her humanitarian efforts and work is just plain foolish talk.

Oh and BTW,

AFTER this - they fly home on their PRIVATE JET to their $80 MILLION dollar home in France, that could quite possibly house maybe 200 of these refugees.

Now call me unappreciative of their efforts, but common sense tells me they should seek solace first with their own minds that is filled with guilt!!

Audrey Hepburn was doing this type of charity work 50 years ago. Hate to tell you Brangeloonies, but your idols didn't invent this. And Brad only got involved after he started having sex with Saint Angie. The dude has absolutely no personality of his own. And if Brad is so charitable, what was he spending his money on for the first 15 years he was rich and famous? FIFTEEN years it took him to notice a world outside of himself.

Didn't Audrey Hepburn wear that dress to the Oscars in the 1970's? Sorry, Angie you're NOT Audrey Hepburn. She had way more class than you could ever dream of having. You see Angie dearest, Audrey was a humble person who didn't exploit the world's most vulnerable people to promote herself.

As much as she also deserves applause Audrey onyl started really doing substantial work for UNICEF in the last years of her life after she retired. Before that all she did were public service announcements and fund raising at fancy events.

It is just stupid to compare humanitarian efforts. Only a fool does that. All work on behalf of others is good. People donate and give of themselves as their lives and circumstances allow.

If every person would adopt a pet from the shelters, every day... rather than purchase... If every person would adopt an OLDER pet from the shelter to extend their life a little longer (the ones who otherwise have little chance cuz every one goes for the pups)... they would feel that they had served a cause greater than their own selves & would feel so great... She has done some great humanitarian work, and for this she should be applauded, however, by no means is this woman someone we should all aspire to be. On the contrary she is actually a woman with a low self esteem and no respect for other individuals.
She says she can't wait until her kids can see Mr. and Mrs. Smith so they can witness the moment that her and Brad fell in love with eachother. Jennifer and Brad were still very much together during the filming. She also broke up other marriages in her history. Yes I know that the men had choice of their own, but her track record is not very positive.
Once again, I think it is so good what Angelina is doing for the world, but there are so many other celebrities who do just as much if not more for the less fortunate, and they receive no reccognition for their efforts. Why is she the only one who is such a saint? So strange to me.
