Angelina Jolie Loses Mother
After a protracted battle with cancer, Angelina Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand passed away on Saturday at Ceders Sinai Hospital. Bertrand, an actress in her own right who studied under Lee Strasberg, raised Angelina on her own following her divorce from Jon Voight.
The picture we've chosen to accompany this story was taken from our archive, but it's a shot of Angelina coming from the hospital where she'd been visiting her mother. Throughout the whole ordeal, Angelina remained a dutiful, attentive daughter despite the pressures of celebrity, and we'd like to express our condolences for her loss.
The family requests that donations be made to the Women's Cancer Research Institute at Ceders-Sinai en lieu of flowers or gifts.
