The premise is wrong. There is no such thing as an "open marriage" .. either people are married or they are not. Now of course people can do whatever they like within the marriage, but if they are having sexual relationships with other people then there isn't a core marriage to cheat on in the first place. The German magazine that always lands the giant scoop (um, right?) sent gossip blogs abuzz with comments Angelina Jolie supposedly made on the subject of fidelity.

“I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” Jolie “told” the mag. “It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”

“Him,” for Jolie, is Brad Pitt, with whom she raises six children.

“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together,” Jolie continues. “We make sure that we never restrict each other.”

Wow, so a random German magazine just broke the story that Hollywood’s highest profile relationship is “open”? That’s… odd.

Gossip Cop reached out to a number of sources, and no one could confirm the major implication here – that Jolie and Pitt have an “open” relationship

What concerns me is the part about Brad acting in "a defiant way". What, does that mean disagreeing with Angie? Sounds like he must spend a lot of time nodding and smiling or risk torn shirts...or worse. If those words had come from Brad instead of Angie our first thought would be domestic violence. Hopefully she was speaking metaphorically and not literally, otherwise I'd be wondering just what the little Jolie-Pitts are learning about functional and healthy relationships.
