Do Angie And Jen Make Good Movies?

Anything that angie has tried that is out of the action genre fails. Jen did go darker in Derailed and Good Girl.

I saw Angelina's bum in Wanted, so that was good. Jennifer hasen't done anything good since Rock Star.

Jennifer's Marley and Me was not a RomCom nor was Derailed or Good Girl. We also got to see Jen's bum in the Breakup which by the way is superior to Angie's flat tusch.

Angelina got her Oscar for a drama and was nominated for a Oscar for a drama and is considered a serious actor. Angelina plays a variety of roles, drama, comedy, animation. Angelina's next film will probably be Patricia Cromwell's novels Dr Kay Scarpetta, another drama. Angelina just completed Salt, a spy caper. Jen was horrible in Derailed as she is no femme fatale, and has not acted in other than lame rom coms for years now. Jen can't even get cast in good rom coms like SandraB. Jen has now been relegated to be the "Queen of the B/C loser whiny women rom coms". Jen has climbed into a box and seems firmly enclosed. What she and her agent are thinking is beyond comprehension. Jen is also 40+ and should not be playing a 30 something.

Just because a movie is not a BO success is not a failure. Kate W won an Oscar for a film that did not blow the top off the BO none of her movies usually do.. is she a failure. Like her or not A Mighty Heart and Changling were outstanding performances. Jennifer does Comedies that is her thing. And she seems to enjoy doing a lot of them. She does not seem to want to do the dramatic stuff.. her words not mine. She said in an interview that she would wait until later in her life when she did not look great to do character roles.. So I guess actresses like Meryl, Kate, Cate and others are trolls. Angie does Action and Drama.. She makes what a movie a year. By choice. I am sure she is offered roles right and left. They are not in competition. They are NEVER considered for the same roles. So to compare them is just an excuse to talk about a triangle that does not exist. And this thread is supposed to be about the roles they take.. not who is the better looking.. Which is a debate that is endless.. Especially if you are pro one and con the other.. Sad that this thread can't stay on topic and become an avenue for attack because of adult choices these women made in their PERSONAL lives..

Angelina is an A+ mega actress who has the ability and acting range to play all kinds of roles, and because of her talent she is offered all kinds of films. Jen had some comedic ability as a B level actress, but has decided to only play Rachel Green in every film she now does. Same hair, same habit of twirling hair, same wardrobe, same nasal voice, no change or growth in her craft. She did The Good Girl and then ran like hell back to Rachel Green forever. Jen is now into making C/D movie clones over and over and not being a good actress. That is what floats her boat, not acting as a vocation. The Breakup was VinceV's film produced by Vince, he made a ton on money off Jen, and she let herself fall into the cesspool of films like the Baster, the Bounty, and now Puma.

Jen was a costar of Marley, just as Owen was. But at least for once Jen did not play "I am a woman hear me cry" role. Jen has squandered what talent she had, she was better in 30 Rock than any of her movies. Angelina is a pretty good actress who plays all kinds of roles who has an Oscar and many world wide fans. Angelina is not locked in a niche like Jen is.

Jen is way cuter. Funnier too. Angie looks like a sourpuss.

Angelina acts in all genre of films with top directors and scripts and has won all kinds of acting awards. Jen is now only acting in Lifetime tv channel movies of the week, churning them out every few months, only changeing the name, and she is the only A labeled actress I see doing this constant drivel.

Oh, please. Cut the Angie pr speech. The woman tanks in movie after movie when she tries to take on anything with gravitas. It is beyond her reach as she is vapid. Also, that same horrible fake Russian accent she uses for every role regardless of nationality is hilarious and irritating. The only films of hers that have done ok are action films which is why she's returning to them because, you know, she needs the money. LOL. Aniston also has seemingly returned to her genre though the films seem quite silly. There's no reason she shouldn't play in her 30s. She looks it. That comment was likely written by a woman and shame on you for reinforcing sexist ideas just so you can swipe at Aniston on Jolie's behalf.

Angelina really seemed to think she was gonna get an Oscar. She seemed to be salivating for it. It was kind of funny. Luckily the Academy has taste and didn't go for it. Her poseur ways might play well in the tabloids but not on the big screen. Meanwhile, she keeps announcing she's retiring and then goes back to movie after movie. Totally mental.

Once you have a ton of money, why bother making movies if they're just garbage? These people need the attention and need to be in the spotlight and that's why they're such hypocrites when they whine about media attention.

Don't like Jen's fluff. Angie was best in Girl Interupted. She was an insane girl locked in an asylum. No acting required. She played herself.

Oh, I didn't read the question. Yes, I do think Angelina and Jennifer both stick to what they're good at. Brad Pitt is the one that tries other genres and sucks horribly. Let's watch the crappy films he did with harrison ford, Troy, meet joe black and then watch Benjamin Button and see how much his acting has Grown. ZERO! his acting has not grown at all and he ruins movies when he steps out of the genre he should stick to. he should either stick to playing the sidekick ala Oceans or take leads in Rom-Coms. I guess they should stick with what they do best. Difference is, Jolie wants an Oscar, and I don't think that's Jennifers goal. She seems to stick with movies she can enjoy making, rather than taking it quite so seriously. With things the way they are in this world today, I think comedies are preferred.

This post is just a ploy to pit fans against one another. They are different actresses, so a true debate would come from comparing them to actors that make the same types of movies. Say JA to Kate Hudson and AJ to Charlize Theron.

Angelina has played more a variety of characters. Jen sticks to the same type minus a few films eg.derailed. Jen is getting too old to be playing in the cutesy romantic comedies though. She looked rough in He's Just Not that into You and so did Jennifer Connoly.

Angelina is clearly the better actress. She does one difficult role after another, wheras Jen does almost nothing but light rom-com's which hardly need any serious acting skill.

o god no one is qualified to label one a better actress than the other...if you're citing awards then you're a hypocrite b/c i'm sure you didn't run to the movies to watch the changeling or girl interrupted, but you probably went to see mr. and mrs. smith or wanted, not to mention the fact it's pretty clear in the box office receipts which movies the public tends to prefer and they're not usually dramatic...most awards are given out by a group of arrogant "industry insiders" who make up their definition of "good acting" and i personally don't think we should adhere to their opinions, but rather form our own...acting, as long as it's believeable, is in my opinion all equal. there is no basis for comparison unless you look at the roles, and then you are judging the acting REQUIRED for that role, so obviously a good comedic actress and a good dramatic actress can't be compared too closely. if you have a penchant for enjoying dramas more then you probably find dramatic actors more substantial and talented, but that is not quantitative, that is opinion. personally, as long as a performance is believeable, enjoyable, and evokes emotion, it's good acting in my opinion

aniston doesn't do more serious roles because she probably isn't confident with her acting ability to pull them off. people have associated her with rom-coms already. she should just stick to that.

Not Jolie.. so How does Jennifer stack up against them..

I am not sure receiving a Oscar is a
great honor. Most of the movies that
win aren't usually seen by a lot of
people. I probably have only seen about
five that have won. How many of you went
to Milk? I would never spend my money
to go see a film about terroism and
monitoring human rights in Africa. It's
in the news all the time. There were
only two movies nonminated this year
that were actually really good. The
right one won and that was Slumdog.
We need a variety. I like the rom-coms
better. It will be interesting to see
Jen in Hollar and Gorlee Girls. She's
good in comedy and it's her field but

enjoyed Marley and Me and it was a true
story. Brad has never won a oscar so

If either one of them, gave up acting no one would miss them at all! There are amazing actresses out there with true talent, that could blow either one of these out of the water. Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, are just two names that come to mind.

Just because Angie tackles difficult roles, much like Brad is trying to do doesnt make them great actors or actresses. They just act the movie terribly. They most recently got nominated for their roles because of the attention they get AND especially when they toss Jennifer in as a presenter...purely for ratings. Neither Brad nor Angie had a chance in H3LL of winning they were awful.

Angie has no range and hasnt improved much since her days starring in Meatloafs music videos. Brad is rotten outside of a rom-com(Mr. and Mrs. Smith). At least Jen recently has stuck with comedic roles for the most part and she rakes int he bucks and now is producing films as well. Seems she is right on track. Jennifer has a net worth of over $100Million - She has received recognition from the International Film Festival for Directing a short film, She is an actress AND she is a producer. Jennifer is one smart cookie. Oh for the person that added voice over in cartoons by Angie - Jennifer has also done animation as well.

Angelina gets paid US$ 15-20m per film while Aniston only gets US$ 5-8m per film. So even if Angie only does one film a year, she earns more than Aniston, who does 3-4 films a year.

Also since Aniston is producing her own movies now like Management, the Baster and Puma, she doesnt get much upfront. So if her movie bombs like Management, she wont earn that much.

She is lucky she gets residuals for Friends, but is already going to expire soon.

I think Aniston is a very ambitious and is so greedy with money. She accepts everything that is offered to her, no matter how shitty the movies are.

On the onther hand, Angelina is very choosy, because she wants to spend more time with her family. I bet she gets so many offers, but rejects most of them.
