Jolie's dramatic forays don't do as well box office wise, but she always gets award noms. No use denying this woman is the biggest female star today. Just some facts: Wanted was sold on Jolie's back - the stats on it showed she was the draw for around 70% of the audience. Wanted made a fortune and she got big salary plus back end deal. Studio also used her big time to sell Kung Fu Panda. Meryl, as much as I love her, can't open a film like that. She only got a back end deal for Mama Mia. Meryl does not get such deals for dramas.

The reps of actors is well known in the industry and both Brad and Angelina have two of the best reps among both above the line and below the line production members.

I am always uop for an Angelina Jolie action flick. No woman in film today or in film history does that genre better and as a woman I want to see kick ass, take charge females on the screen.

Just wanted to add that the NY Times article I believe a poster was referencing above never said Jolie has PR team. Everyone in the industry knows Jolie only had a publicist for a few months many years ago. Jolie has her agent Geyer Kosinski who has been with her since she was 20. She also has a long time assistant who is mostly parttime now and works from home just flying in for certain events like premieres or the many awards shows she attended in 2009. None of this is a secret. Like numerous other people with money who are involved in charitable efforts (Bruce Springsteen, Bill & Melinda Gates) they use the services of a political consultant to vet organizations for them and keep them abreast of world events and politics.

By the by, that NY Times article was pretty much eviscerated by the NY Times itself because the author didn't have believable and verifiable sources and all parties involved denied his proofless allegations. This same author did a pizz poor job trying to cover the recent Writers' Guild strike and because he had no contacts or real sources in the industry made himself a patsy of the studio moguls and their efforts to destroy the industry unions.
