Arnold Schwarzenegger headed to his hometown of Thal, Austria, this weekend to unveil an eight-foot statue that he had commissioned ... a statue of himself.
The statue is a likeness of Arnold in his bodybuilding days. It is one of seven bronze busts that the Governator had made of himself, implying that he'll be bringing them to other locations around the world.
The actor was greeted by hundreds of fans in Thal, where he also inaugurated a museum in his name. The museum features memorabilia such as Schwarzenegger's first barbell and his California governor's desk. He told the crowd:
- "My personal success has less to do with millions of dollars or with the headlines in the media that are not always positive ... Personal success is the result of determination, hard work and stubbornness."
Schwarzenegger was accompanied on the trip by his son, Patrick.
Meanwhile, his estranged wife Maria and their other children were at home in Santa Monica.
