Ashton Kutcher Tweeted before thinking when commenting about the firing of Penn State's football coach Joe Paterno.
The Two and a Half Men star, 33, wrote the following Tweet:
- "How dare you fire Jo Pa?" he tweeted. "Insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste."
Immediately after the Tweet, Kutcher fans were outraged at his support for Paterno, who lost his job amidst a child-abuse sex scandal. Paterno was fired for failing to act and contact authorities after learning the school's assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was sexually abusing young boys.
After getting Tweets calling him "ignorant" and an "idiot," Kutcher deleted his initial message and wrote the following:
- "Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn't have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes...This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now... Wow ... As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case."
