Young rapper Bow Wow is a proud papa!

The 24-year-old "I Want Candy" singer held on tight to baby daughter Shai while cruising with friends at the Malibu Country Mart.

Hard to believe Bow Wow is a dad, but he looks like a natural. The rapper recently opened up about his new perspective on life. Read what he had to say about how his daughter has changed him ... after the jump.

24-year-old BowWow revealed via his website that he is a dad, and also touched on his struggles with fame, which he says have given him suicidal thoughts at times.

The rapper/actor wrote:

"For the past 3 years i been batteling life. Even thought about taking my own. I felt like as a kid i did everything and saw everything too fast which spoiled my adult years. I felt as if i had no purpose to live(Thinking selfishly) until god gave me the illest gift of my life ... my lil girl."

He admits that he was "nervous" about how fans would react to the news, but says his daughter -- whose name and age he does not reveal -- has made him "into a man overnight," even inspiring him to treat his mother better.

BowWow says he wont be posting many pictures of her because he doesn't want her to be confronted with fame like he was at a young age (he released his first album as Lil' BowWow at just age 13.) He says: " ... i want my boo boo to have everything i didnt. Want her to be able to cheerlead with her lil friends ... I know how fame is. I missed out on so much ..."

And, while BowWow also doesn't reveal the mother of his child, he does talk about some baby mama drama he's apparently having.

"I want her to live with me so bad. ... Baby gotta stay with they momma and all dat bull. I hate that! ... The bs that comes with having a baby momma is expected. ... try not let her get the best of my feelings by playin them stupid games."

You know Bow Wow must have been effed up if Chris Brown was the voice of reason on New Year's Eve!

Bow Wow took to Twitter to brag about being "young", "rich," and "f*cked up" while driving, and apparently pal Chris Brown, who was also at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach's LIV Nightclub, was the one who was trying to calm him down!

"Im bout to be f*cked up n drunk tweeting. Im saying sorry now for what i might tweet. But f*ck it ! Im young n rich im goin hard 2nite," Bow Wow tweeted from the party.

"He was out of control," one partygoer told the NY Daily News. "Chris seemed like he was taking care of him - he had two security guards with him at all times and was making sure Bow Wow didn't do anything too stupid."

But apparently there was a huge FAIL, because minutes later Bow Wow tweeted, "Face numb im whippin the lambo. Tipsy as fuck. Just left the @livmiami Im fucked up!!! Ohhhh damn. Y i drive the lambo. Chris might have to drive after next spot"

One witness says, "The valet looked skeptical and asked him if he was okay to drive. But Bow Wow didn't look happy that he asked that - and the valet just gave him his keys. It would have been a huge scene if they denied him his car."

It would have been a bigger scene if they had gotten into a wreck!

But clearly everything turned out fine, because the next day, Bow Wow tweeted, "Apologize for that tweet. it was stupid and immature. not a way i want to kick my #2010 year off. i got too much good stuff lined up. my bad"
